Voici un communiqué posté sur la page officielle facebook d' IMMORTAL :

"IMMORTAL starts recording their new album in Abyss Studio in January 2017!

IMMORTAL will start recording their ninth album in January 2017.

"The songs have been ready for some time, but we wanted to record it at the right place and time. We will once again work with Peter Tägtgren at Abyss Studio who produced our four last albums. The band will enter the studio during wintertime to have the right atmosphere.

We look forward to record and present the new album to the IMMORTAL hordes sometime in 2017.

The tracks that will appear on the album are: 'Northern Chaos Gods', 'Into Battle Ride', 'Gates To Blashyrkh', 'Blacker Of Worlds', 'Where Mountains Rise', 'Grim And Dark', 'Called To Ice', and 'Ravendark'.

L'album, qui sera intitulé "Northern Chaos Gods", d'abord prévu pour 2017, sortira le 06 juillet 2018.

"On July 6th 2018, Norwegian black metal legends IMMORTAL will unleash their first studio album since »All Shall Fall«, released almost nine years ago. The legendary band has forged »Northern Chaos Gods«, an album which takes IMMORTAL back to its roots. The album features eight new tracks consisting of 45 minutes of merciless speed and icy darkness, all massive songs in the true IMMORTAL way.

The band has once again been focusing on making their music without much outside influence.

"We are eternally dedicated to IMMORTAL and our own musical past.
The album is conceptual, and the first step in the reclaiming of our past grimness and attitude. Loyalty to the fans and our own musical history is very significant in this. Our new album will soon be available, with songs from the very gates of Blashyrkh - the realm of all darkness and cold."

IMMORTAL will first release a 7'' vinyl single of their first new song, the title track 'Northern Chaos Gods'. It will be available in three different colours and is strictly limited edition. The digital version of the track will be available on May 11th, while the physical single is out on May 25th, in the following editions:

IMMORTAL, Northern chaos gods BLACK VINYL (limited to 400 pieces)
IMMORTAL, Northern chaos gods WHITE VINYL (limited to 500 pieces - mailorder exclusive)
IMMORTAL, Northern chaos gods RED VINYL (limited to 300 pieces - mailorder exclusive)

En tout cas, là, je l'ai écoutée plein de fois, et oui, ça arrache, on dirait presque un titre pris de "Panzer Division Marduk" de MARDUK mais avec un autre chanteur. Ça arrache bien.

La précommande de l'album a commencé hier vendredi 11 mai sur le site de NUCLEAR BLAST. Je vais le précommander avec celui de MARDUK pour grouper à cause des frais de port.

j'ai écouté l'album et je le trouve assez bon, dommage que la batterie soit un peu sous mixé.

Je l'aime beaucoup, c'est du pur IMMORTAL. Je l'ai écouté plusieurs fois sur Deezer hier matin tôt, puis reçu hier en fin de matinée de NUCLEAR BLAST. J'avais commandé le IMMORTAL et l'édition boxset du nouveau MARDUK, le digipack d'IMMORTAL arrivé écrasé :( Je leur ai envoyé des photos des dégâts, 1 heure après ils m'ont dit qu'ils m'en envoyaient un autre exemplaire.
