Ozzy Osbourne, who will be inducted — along with the rest of BLACK SABBATH — next week into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during a New York ceremony, plans on returning to the recording studio this year.

"I'm gonna get with [guitarist] Zakk [Wylde] soon and start hopefully writing a new studio [album]. I've gotta get a studio album this year," Osbourne tells Billboard.com. "I'm well overdue."

Osbourne is also still involved in the musical "Rasputin", which has been a work-in-progress for 10 years. He says there is "a lot of interest" in the project about the Russian monk who was notoriously difficult to kill.

Asked if the play would be an out-and-out musical, Osbourne replies, "I don't know, because I've never done it before. It's something I've always wanted to do. It's gonna be drama, I suppose. Some f*cking guy says, 'Oh yeah man, I can see it now: These silver things come out of the sky ...' I don't want 'Star Trek' meets f*cking Russia. I want it kind of like authentic, like 'Fiddler on the Roof' meets f*cking 'Phantom'."

According to Rolling Stone magazine (web site), OZZY OSBOURNE has set "Black Rain" as the title of his new solo album, due out early June.

The first single from the upcoming CD, "I Don't Want to Stop", will receive its online premiere on Friday, April 13. (To hear a clip of the single, click here.)

Among the eleven new tracks Osbourne has recorded is "Not Going Away", which Rolling Stone describes as "a fiery rocker with ominous riffs from guitarist Zakk Wylde," and "Lay Your World On Me", which was inspired by Ozzy's wife and manager's recent battle with cancer. Other songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Countdown's Begun", "The Almighty Dollar", "Not Going Away" and "Civilize the Universe".

The follow-up to 2001's "Down to Earth", was recorded with the same band that backed Osbourne on his scattered 2006 Ozzfest dates — Zakk Wylde on guitar, Mike Bordin on drums, and former ROB ZOMBIE bassist Rob "Blasko" Nicholson. The album has no official producer, although longtime Mutt Lange protégé Kevin Churko is serving as the engineer.

The new CD is the first to be recorded in Osbourne's home studio, located in the newly soundproofed guest house behind his Beverly Hills mansion, which he's outfitted with a mixing desk and a ProTools rig. "If you ever have inspiration, you can put down an idea," Osbourne told Rolling Stone of recording at home. Ce mec a perdu tout interet pour moi, il n'est que l'ombre de lui m^me depuis un certain temps déjà, quand on voit des mecs comme Plant, Gillian, Lemmy ou encore Alice Cooper sont encore capables de grandes choses et lui qui tombe si bas, c'est pathetique...

Quant au single, mouais, on reconnais entre mille le style ultra graisseux du père Wylde mais le morceau est un peu moyen. C'est pas du no more tears. Y'a un côté assez moderne aussi. Mais ça donne envie de connaitre l'ensemble de l'album.

c'est pas revolutionnaire mais ça se laisse ecouter, c'est bien foutu ... faut voir l'album ... ça rappele OZZMOSIS ... ( ce qui n'est pas pour me deplaire, loin de là )

Bon je l'écoute depuis hier ce Ozzy et c'est une bonne surprise je dois dire, vu l'etat du bonhomme il y a peu je n'en attendais pas grand chose, mais bon déjà son interview dans rock hard m'avait un peu rassuré, il s'est calmé et a retrouvé une partie de ses esprits c'est net, il se rend même compte que l'emission télé n'etait pas forcement une bonne chose c'est dire.
Quand à l'album, il est meilleur que sa derniere sortie c'est net, bon c'etait pas dur faut le dire, mais bon c'etait pas gagné, Ozzy a laissé Zack Wilde s'exprimer et il a bien fait, sur les 10 titres, on en a quelques uns tres bon, Not going away, I don't wanna stop ou Trad door, bon on est loin des 1ers albums encore, mais Ozzy fait un retour honnete et de bonne facture et c'est déjà pas mal

Le chant paraît encore naturel ? Pas trop de difficultés dans les aïgus ? Parce que sur scène, c'est vraiment pas folichon, Ozzy ayant vraiment moins bien vieilli que Dio ou Gillan par exemple...

Non c'est parfait a ce niveau là, le chant est dans la tres bonne moyenne de Ozzy, bon apres c'est sur on fait des miracles en studio mais on dirait que le Madman a compris qu'il fallait calmer le jeu et a pas mal bosser ces derniers temps

Bah apparemment depuis qu'il a (une nouvelle fois) arrêté de boire, ça se passe mieux sur scène.

Il sort quand sinon "en vrai" ? J'ai bien envie de le tenter sans l'avoir téléchargé.
