The Gothenburg, Sweden-based metal band EVERGREY are prepating to enter the studio to record their sixth studio album, tentatively due in April 2006 via InsideOut Music. The production duties will be handled by the experienced team of Sanken Sandquist and Stefan Glaumann, who have previously worked with such artists as RAMMSTEIN, BON JOVI, BRITNEY SPEARS and DEF LEPPARD.

Commented EVERGREY mainman Tom S. Englund: "It feels amazing to work with such an experienced team and we are convinced that they are able to lift us even higher than before."

Certes, mais vont-ils faire evoluer un peu leur style ou continuer dans la lignée des précédents ?
J'aimerai voir ce qu'ils donneraient sur des morceaux d'une dizaine de minutes. Un pour voir, déjà.

C'est vrai qu'ils ne nous ont jamais pondu de titres epiques (a l'exception du mixage Trilogy of The Damned) et le public s'accorde parfois a les classer dans prog' ...

On verra bien, je faic confiance a Englund pour ne pas (trop) se repeter !

Le Prog n'a rien à voir avec la longueur des titres. GENTLE GIANT est un des groupes les plus Prog du monde et leurs morceaux tournent généralement autour des 5 minutes.

The Swedish progressive metal kings Evergrey are now back with their sixth album. After the success with the last two albums and several tours Evergrey has established themselves as one of the leading bands within the progressive metal circuit. But Evergrey are so much more than just progressive metal. Power metal fans love them for their catchy melodies, goth fans love them for their dark side and heavy metal fans love them for their heavy approach.

This time the album was produced by the producers team Sanken Sankquist / Ralf Glaumann (Rammstein, Britney Spears, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard). A high class video will be filmed for one of the songs.

Ca s'annonce pas mal, Englund semble varier beaucoup plus ses lignes vocales (je me demande même si c'est lui qui chante sur certains passages). Par contre, les rythmiques complexes de Recreation Day et In Search For The Truth semblent un lointain souvenir maintenant...

Hop, j'ai écouté ça aussi.

Après une première écoute, je le trouve pas mal, plus heavy forcément, ce qui n'est pas sans me déplaire.

Par contre, un truc que je regrette, c'est qu'il y a de plus en plus de groupes qui ont ce même son de gratte qu'on retrouve d'un album de Death mélo à un album de Heavy à un autre de prog...Si bien que si ce n'était pour la voix et la façon de construire les mélodies (quand yen a, ça c'est le gros problème d'Evergrey...) on aurait du mal à distinguer ce groupe de beaucoup d'autres à l'oreille...

Ceci dit, il est moins léthargique que les précédents, c'est un bon point, j'espèrais un tel changement de leur part.

A voir avec les prochaines écoutes si j'arrive à en retenir quelque chose

Evergrey perd son bassiste. Il a envie de jouer autre chose. Vu sa gueule je dirais qu'il a envie de jouer du vrutal. Son remplaçant est l'ancien bassiste d'Hammerfall, Fredrik Larsson.

As BLABBERMOUTH.NET first reported earlier today, Swedish metallers EVERGREY have now confirmed via their web site that they have parted ways with bassist Michael Håkansson. Michael's official statement on the matter reads as follows:

"After a long time of consideration and many, many hours of thinking I now, with sadness, announce my departure from the band.

"I have been a part of the band for seven years and during that time I have experienced so much and I have seen more than I ever thought I would. But now it is time for me to say goodbye.

"My reason for doing this is that I feel a strong urge to do something different in music. This is the one and only reason and it's 100% my own decision.

"I want to thank the boys for all the good times we have had together thoughout the years. I wish them the best of all success, something they truly deserve and without doubt will achieve."

Håkansson's replacement in EVERGREY is former HAMMERFALL bassist Fredrik Larsson.

Hakansson est actuellement dans un groupe à deux chanteuses dont la zique est composée par les deux gratteux d'In Flames, ca doit être ca qu'il veut privilegier.
