Ouais le package est pas mal. L'extérieur est sympa, le livret est joli, mais simple : 1 seule page photos avec leur nouveau look, et les textes des chansons. C'est pas leur meilleur package, mais sur une étagère, tu ne vois que ce CD.

Je suis en pleine écoute ces jours ci de ce double album pour le moins copieux. J'avais pas trop accroché au disque 2 lors des écoutes en MP3. Je m'y suis plongé et il est au final réussi.
L'ensemble est vraiment bien foutu. L'utilisation des différents chanteurs notamment donne vraiment beaucoup d'impact aux chansons qui restent assez simples et dont chaque partie est amenée assez finement.
Je suis assez épaté (Sirius B m'avait déjà scotché cela dit), mais Gothic Kabbalah n'a assurément pas un premier abord accrocheur mais s'en sort très bien. Probablement un des albums de cette nouvelle année.

Je rejoins ton avis. J'écoute vraiment l'album depuis le concert la semaine dernière (avec juste 2-3 écoutes auparavant), et il n'est vraiment pas facile d'accès, malgré son apparente 'simplicité' (moins de choeurs).
ça fourmille de petits trucs, et l'ensemble parait bien cohérent. Un bon album de plus dans la disco de Therion!

Ce que j'aime bien c'est que la richesse n'est pas vraiment synonyme de complexité sur cet album. Chaque élément, pris à part est très simple. Les guitares sont très épaisses mais ne balancent la plupart du temps que quelques gros accords.
Si t'as un choeur il fait quelque chose de simple. Pareil pour une "flûte". Et la superposition de tout ça se fait avec beaucoup de clarté, de "lisibilité". Ça continue de respirer. Tout est épuré en fait. C'est vraiment très pensé. J'aime beaucoup ça.

Superbe album en effet. Et j'en rajoute une couche niveau batterie : du grand art, j'aime la façon dont on elle claque et les subtilités rythmiques qu'elle accentue.

THERION Parts Ways With Singer MATS LEVÉN, Announces Replacement - May 10, 2007
Swedish metallers THERION have issued the following update:

"From Wacken Open Air [in early August] and onwards, Mats Levén (KRUX) will no longer be singing with the band. It was a decision taken by the whole band in discussion with Mats. This change of lineup is on friendly terms and the remaining shows before Wacken will be performed with the same energy and passion as if nothing had happened. There are no bad feelings. THERION will continue to develop even further into the direction we set on the last tour and Mats will focus on his new projects.

"Every time there was a change in the THERION lineup, it caused a lot of discussions. Some will always prefer the previous line-up because for some reason or another. Those who was with us back then probably remember the discussions after Martina, Anders 'the bald guy' Engberg etc. Some fans fell in love with the high-energy vitamin injection that Mats gave to the band, while others thought he was too much rock 'n' roll for THERION (which by the way was totally our intention when engaging him for the 'Lemuria'/'Sirius B' tour). Without a doubt though, it is clear that a majority will think back of the period with Mats on stage with a huge smile. Each stage in THERION's development has had its own unique charm and strengths and it is therefore a good thing when people are missed, but the good part is that it does not mean one has to be disappointed with the next step.

"And the part you all have been waiting for... The new guy will be Thomas Vikström, a singer who has been singing both opera, operettas and musicals as well as rock, metal and loads of other stuff. He is probably most known in the metal world for singing on a CANDLEMASS album ('Chapter VI' — which is actually far from his best effort). Here in Sweden he is also know for the melodic hard rock band TALK OF THE TOWN. His great vocal abilities will for sure be more known at least among the THERION fans after the tour."

C'était à prévoir, c'est un peu un mercenaire, ce mec, mais c'est bien dommage.

Je suis content d'avoir vu le groupe avec Mats, j'espère qu'il repassera faire un saut à l'occasion.

C'est dommage, j'aime beaucoup la voix de ce chanteur, l'énergie qu'il dégage. Et puis j'adore la façon dont ce mec met l'ambiance en concert (même si sur la dernière tournée il restait un peu en retrait à cause du nombre conséquent de chanteurs). On a encore l'occasion de le voir lors des festivals cet été, pour moi je le verrai au Hellfest.

Plutôt qu'il faut que tu ré-écoutes ça ! Ce n'est pas du THERION "classique", mais il est franchement réussi.

C'est un album que je me suis quasi forcé à apprécier (pour cause de chansons nases à intervalles réguliers), qui n'est pas mal du tout, mais c'est un album de Therion pour les gens qui n'aiment pas Therion.

C'est vrai que c'est un peu mon cas.
