German melodic metallers HELLOWEEN filmed their sold-out headlining concert on January 29, 2006 at the 5,000-capacity crowd at the Winter Palace Of Sports in Sofia, Bulgaria for a planned live CD/DVD package. Two other shows will be recorded for the upcoming CD/DVD — Tokyo, Japan on March 1 and Sao Paulo, Brazil on March 25. More details will be announced soon.

HELLOWEEN are continuing to tour in support of their latest album, "Keeper of the Seven Keys - The Legacy", available now on SPV Records. The lineup on the record includes singer Andi Deris, guitarists Michael Weikath and Sascha Gerstner, bassist Markus Großkopf and drummer Dani Löble (ex-RAWHEAD REXX). Produced by Charlie Bauerfeind (BLIND GUARDIAN, HALFORD, RAGE), "Keeper of the Seven Keys - The Legacy" was released as a high-quality digipack with six flaps.

Six of HELLOWEEN's most interesting, transitional albums — "Walls Of Jericho", "Pink Bubbles Go Ape", "Chameleon", "Master Of The Rings", "The Time Of The Oath" and "Better Than Raw" — are being reissued as remastered, deluxe expanded edition CDs by Sanctuary Records on April 25, 2006. Bonus tracks include rare B-sides, remixes and live versions. "Walls Of Jericho", "Chameleon", "Master Of The Rings" and "The Time Of The Oath" are two-CD sets while "Pink Bubbles Go Ape" and "Better Than Raw" are each one fully packed CD. All six releases include informative liner notes with essays, new interviews with guitarist Michael Weikath, lyrics and photos.

"Walls Of Jericho" was originally released in late 1985. It was HELLOWEEN's first full-length album following the appearance of the mini-album "Helloween" earlier that year. In addition to "Walls Of Jericho" itself, this two-CD reissue also includes the five songs from "Helloween" and a track from the picture-disc version, two songs from 1984's compilation album/sampler "Death Metal", 1986's "Judas" EP and two emixes from 2002's "Treasure Chest".

"Pink Bubbles Go Ape" hit the streets in 1991 and it was HELLOWEEN's first album with guitarist Roland Grapow, who had replaced Kai Hansen. "Chameleon" followed in 1993 and this experimental effort was the final album with vocalist Michael Kiske. "Master Of The Rings" appeared in 1994 and it marked the debut of vocalist Andi Deris. "The Time Of The Oath" was issued in 1996 and it is generally regarded as containing the band's strongest, most cohesive set of songs since the mid-1980s classics "Keeper Of The Seven Keys, Pt. 1" and "Keeper Of The Seven Keys, Pt. 2". "Better Than Raw" came out in 1998 and it found HELLOWEEN adding progressive elements as well as touches of neo-classical and neo-black metal.

Steamhammer/SPV, along with Cargo, have announced plans to release HELLOWEEN's "Keeper of the Seven Keys – The Legacy" album in a sought-after, popular-with-collectors vinyl version (double LP in a gatefold sleeve) mid-June. The band have also announced the impending release of a double DVD, filmed during shows in Sofia, Tokyo and Sao Paulo. In Sao Paulo alone, HELLOWEEN played in front of over 6,000 enthusiastic fans. Alongside the live footage, the double DVD will include lots of exciting bonus material. The exact release date will be announced by SPV in the coming weeks.
HELLOWEEN will present an excellent best-of set at the upcoming summer festivals, featuring all their important hits, including the odd cult number, for the first time performed by the current lineup.

German power metallers HELLOWEEN will release their new single, "Light the Universe", on November 13 via SPV Records (November 10 in Germany). The title cut is said to be the first-ever duet in the band's history, which also features an appearance by BLACKMORE'S NIGHT singer Candice Night.

In addition to the single version of "Light the Universe", this four-track single offers bonus material in the form of a video for the title track, directed by Alexander Diezinger (NEGATIVE, L'AME IMMORTELLE, EXILIA) at Veldenstein Castle in southern Germany, the track "Revolution" (penned by bassist Markus Großkopf, recorded for Japan and previously unreleased in Europe), as well as an appetizer for the band's upcoming live album — a stage version of "If I Could Fly", recorded in Sao Paulo in March 2006.

Scheduled for release in February 2007, HELLOWEEN's new double live DVD and CD will be available in two versions (standard and limited edition), with tracks recorded in Sofia, Tokyo and Sao Paulo, among others. The group's world tour will reach its finale in Russia and Ukraine in October 2006, with the band concentrating next year on preparations for the follow-up to the "Keeper of the Seven Keys – The Legacy" album.

HELLOWEEN last month cancelled its previously scheduled North American tour due to "unforeseen logistical and organizational problems. . . Despite good advance ticket sales (where pre-sales already where available), North American organizers of the tour could not guarantee an economical and adequate routing of the tour," the group said in a statement. "Therefore a consequent cancellation two months before tour start seemed [to] the band management to be the fairest for fans and promoters at this point."
