The greatest export of the Finnish music industry, NIGHTWISH, will once again up the ante in terms of how far a Finnish group can take their show. On October 21, NIGHTWISH will bring their performance to the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki. This is something a very few Finnish acts have accomplished and the magnitude of the show is second to none.

"Once Upon A Tour 2004-2005" has been selling out venues around the world for nearly 18 months and the group are now keen to end the tour on their home turf. At more than 150 shows on all continents, more than one million spectators have witnessed the NIGHTWISH spectacle. The Hartwall Arena show will be their last before NIGHTWISH take a lengthy break, estimated to last for at least 18 months, during which they will compose and record the follow-up to their highly successful "Once" album.

To add fuel to the fire, NIGHTWISH have decided to film the show for future release as a full-length DVD. The director will be Antti Jokinen, who has previously worked with the group on the "Nemo" clip. The show will be recorded with 20 cameras, which is unheard of in Finland. But then again, not many bands have sold 2.5 million records and are able to present a spectacle featuring such an arsenal of sound, light, visuals and pyro effects.

Spinefarm Records has set a June 5, 2006 release date for the upcoming "End of an Era" CD/DVD release from NIGHTWISH.

"End of an Era" will contain footage of NIGHTWISH's final concert with singer Tarja Turunen, which took place on October 21 at the Hartwall arena in Helsinki, Finland. A 30-second video clip filmed by an audience member during the concert is available online: Real Media, Quicktime. The group's setlist for the show was as follows:

enfin je pense que je vais l'acheter, vu le peu d'extraits live du dernier DVD et l'age du 1er ça fera des souvenirs du concert du ZENITH!

Pas géniale cette setlist.
Mais bon comme dit Gesthal, un DVD de Nightwish c'est toujours bon à prendre (surtout si il est du niveau de "From Wishes to Eternity").

Il a l'air bien foutu ce live!

Oui la sortie est repoussée à chaque annonce du groupe, mais apparemment ouais il va être bien foutu !

Le fan club de Nightwish organise demain soir (mardi 23 mai) une soirée Avant Première à la Cantada, pour pouvoir visionner le DVD End Of An Era.

Ce dvd est bien mais pas trop. Je prefere de loin le "From wishes to eternity" .
Ce qui rehausse la qualité de ce dvd au fait , c Tarja
Entre nous , la reprise de "High hopes" des Floyd est carrement nulle . Elle est ratée a 100%. Le son du clavier est ultra desagreable et en plus le batteur tape comme un bourrin .
Ah oui , j oubliai : L'espece de Wisigoth (qui est au chant)a royalement derape aussi .
Bref.. je suis deçue de cet achat.

Certes il dérape parfois, mais bon, Tarja aussi.

Moi je l'ai trouvé plutôt sympa ce DVD, on a enfin un bon concert à la "From Wishes to Eternity", pas un truc foireux comme dans "End of Innocence".

Bon, c'est quand même assez moyen comme concert.
Certes c'est techniquement plus réussi que From Wishes To Eternity (images moins sombre, pyrotechnie, rien à dire c'est plus spectaculaire..)
Et musicalement on y croit plus vu qu'ils ont enfin laissé les pains du guitariste. Et il en fait le bougre!!
Mais la setlist fait pitié. Trop axée sur les denier albums. Et la reprise de Pink Floyd est d'un niveau la-men-table. C'est une honte de l'avoir laissé sur le DVD. Un musicien avec un tant soit peu d'orgueil l'aurait viré.

Donc globalement, un DVD pas indispensable. "From Wishes" est plus intéressant parce qu'au moins, y'a des titres d'Oceanborn.

Pour la set list, c'était prévisible, vu qu'ils n'ont joué aucun morceaux d'Oceanborn durant la tournée.

Quels respect vis à vis des vieux fans...j'aime bien wishmaster et once, mais faut pas pousser quand même, renier un album, celui qui les a fait connaitre (wishmaster n'a fait qu'enfoncer le clou).
Un peu comme si The Gathering ne jouait plus de morceau de Mandylion, heureusement dans un de leur concerts on peut avoir droit à un in motion II, ou Eleanor, voire Strange machines.

Et encore, pour The Gathering, on pourrait comprendre étant donné qu'ils ont franchement changé de style.
Mais pour Nightwish, vu qu'il n'y a pas eu d'évolution si énorme que ça, bouder leur meilleur album et le préféré des fans, c'est incompréhensible...

A mon avis, ca vient du fait que Tarja n'était plus capable de chanter les morceaux d'Oceanborn.
Elle dit en avoir chié comme pas possible pour faire cet album, vu la difficulté de ses lignes de chant, donc les faire en concert était ptetr trop dur.
Espérons que la nouvelle chanteuse soit capable de chanter les plus vieux morceaux.

Euh, à l'époque j'avais fait écouter quelques titres d'oceanborn à des connaisseurs d'opéra pour juger de la qualité de la technique de la demoiselle, verdit => juste passable. Si elle arrive plus à chanter, cela prouve que dans son domaine c'était loin, mais alors très loin d'être une cantatrice d'exception.
Bon cela dit on s'en fout un peu, elle a assuré suffisamment dans son groupe, on lui demande pas de remplacer Montserrat Caballé au pied levé.

Ah mais c'est sur que Tarja n'a jamais été une chanteuse d'exception.
