KING'S X have inked a new worldwide deal with InsideOut Music. The group's recently completed new studio album is scheduled for release on September 27. The CD was produced by veteran metal producer Michael Wagener (SKID ROW, WARRANT, ACCEPT, HAMMERFALL) and is set to include the following tracks (in no particular order):

01. Bam
02. Where Do You Go
03. Honesty
04. Open My Eyes
05. Mud
06. Sooner or Later
07. Freedom
08. Fly
09. Alison
10. If
11. Be Bop
12. Alone
13. Stay

Two videos will reportedly be filmed before the CD's release, which will coincide with a U.S. tour. A trip overseas is also being planned.

As previously reported, KING'S X frontman Doug Pinnick will release his third solo album, "Emotional Animal", on July 19 via Magna Carta Records. Doug played most of the instruments and vocals on the CD, which features a guest appearance by KING'S X drummer Jerry's son Joy Gaskill (drums) and Kelly Watson (mouth trumpet and vocals on "Freak The Funk Out"). The CD was recorded and mixed at Poundhound Studio by Dug, and mastered by Ty Tabor. "Emotional Animal" will have an interview and bonus demo versions of two of the songs on the CD-ROM portion of the disc.

Texas-based rock trio KING'S X have set "Landscape" as the title of their new album, due on September 27 via InsideOut Music America.

The first new KING'S X album from guitarist/vocalist Ty Tabor, bass guitarist/vocalist Doug Pinnick and drummer/vocalist Jerry Gaskill under the new deal will include up to 14 songs; the track listing is being finalized.

The new KING'S X album was produced by Michael Wagener, who has produced, engineered or mixed work by the likes of METALLICA, ALICE COOPER, QUEEN, OZZY OSBOURNE, DOKKEN, MEGADETH, MÖTLEY CRÜE, SKID ROW, EXTREME and many others.

KING'S X also plan to shoot videos for two singles from the album, their first promotional clips since 1998's "Tapehead". They will be directed by Dr. Teeth, who has helmed videos that are all over MTV for artists such as new hip-hop sensation MIKE JONES.

Magna Carta Records has pushed back the release date of KING'S X frontman Doug Pinnick's third solo album, "Emotional Animal", to August 2 from the previously announced July 19.

Doug played most of the instruments and vocals on the CD, with a little help from KING'S X drummer Jerry's son Joy Gaskill (drums) and Kelly Watson (mouth trumpet and vocals on "Freak The Funk Out"). The album was recorded and mixed at Poundhound Studio by Dug, and mastered by Ty Tabor. "Emotional Animal" will have an interview and bonus demo versions of two of the songs on the CD-Rom portion of the disc.

While Pinnick's previous solo outings were credited to POUNDHOUND, this will be the first to feature solely Pinnick's name (or a slight variation thereof: DUG PINNICK). He described the album to Billboard.com as mostly rock-based but with a few surprises, including the gospel-tinged "Equal Rights", as well as a dance track, "When You Gonna Come".

Une très bonne actualité du groupe et de ses membres entre le Pinnick et le King's X en septembre. :)

Changement de titre pour le nouvel album...et Doug Pinnick m'a l'air blasé lol

Texas-based rock trio KING'S X have changed the title of their new CD to "Ogre Tones" from the previously announced "Landscape". The CD is due on September 27 via InsideOut Music America.

Commented frontman Doug Pinnick: "I made up the name 'Landslide', and we all agreed, but the record company didnt like it. We had 'Ogre Battle' as a working title so we just used it. The change happend a few weeks ago. I jumped the gun on that one. We asked the artist to listen to the CD and come up with a cover. He came up with several similar ideas. We picked this one... like it of hate it.... same as it ever was."

Ma foi, il est très bon ce titre. Le refrain est excellent. En revanche, j'ai du mal à juger la qualité la prod de Wagener.

Info:

With their latest album “Ogre Tones”, American band King’s X proves yet again that they are the masters of groove rock. Produced by sound maestro Michael Wagener in Nashville, Tennessee, the Texan power trio have made one of the best albums of their career.

Their brand new album “Ogre Tones” again proves to be a classic example of intelligent, varied and imaginative rock, on which they combine flawless skills, great compositions and superb production. Ty Tabor sums it up succinctly by saying, “I seriously believe that this is the best thing we have done in years”.

The collaboration with veteran producer Michael Wagener, who has worked for everyone from Queen and Alice Cooper to bands like Dokken and Extreme, had a very positive impact on “Ogre Tones”, says Tabor. “We haven’t had the luxury to work with an external producer for a very long time”, he explains. “It was just fantastic to concentrate exclusively on the music”. The King’s X guitarist also recalls the advantages of working at Wagner’s studio in Nashville, Tennessee. “Michael’s studio is the most idyllic and most wonderful place we have ever recorded an album at”.

As an added bonus, “Ogre Tones” includes a multi-media section with videos for two of the album tracks, “Alone” and “If”. Initial pressings of the album will also come in a stylish slipcase.

Selling points:

First edition comes in a slipcase. Big fanbase for King’s X. Tour for Europe tba. Two videos will be made by successful MTV director “Dr. Teeth”, who has already some videos in rotation at MTV US. Two radio singles are planned. Cover by Drowning Creek Studio (Gov’t Mule, Allman Brothers, Dave Matthews, Phish, Santana, Widespread Panic, and many more). Produced by Michael Wagener (Metallica, Alice Cooper, Skid Row, Ozzy Osbourne, Extreme, and many more).

Tour:

Scheduled for Europe in January/February 2006
