Ca raconte leur tournée en Amérique du Sud (18 flights donc) et le tremblement de terre à Coquimbo. Citation: Guitarist Luke Appleton joins Blaze Bayley’s band The final member of the group Absolva that wasn’t part of former Iron Maiden frontman Blaze Bayley‘s backing band has joined the fold as guitarist Luke Appleton has joined his brother / lead guitarist Chris Appleton, bassist Karl Schramm and drummer Martin McNee in Bayley‘s solo band. About two and a half months ago, Luke Appleton left the heavy metal band Iced Earth after nine years and just as the group’s leader Jon Schaffer was arrested for his rôle in the riot at the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. back on January 6, 2021. The following message was posted in part on Bayley‘s Facebook page earlier today: “Many of you will know Luke from our Iron Maiden 25th Anniversary performances, and also from Absolva. We’re now delighted to announce that he is to fully join our ranks on guitar. Blaze explains “I am very excited to have the magnificent talent of Luke Appleton added to my touring band. He is in the the rôle of power guitarist. The first thing we tried with the new line-up was the live stream from KK Downing’s venue (KK’s Steel Mill) and it felt outrageously good! Can’t wait for my fans to see and hear the new line-up playing live. This is turning into an amazing year. Congratulations Luke! Welcome to the Blaze Bayley team of metal warriors!” Luke responds “I have worked with Blaze on numerous projects over the last 11 years and I am very proud to now be a full-time touring member of the Blaze Bayley band. I believe the sound that my brother Chris and I will create is going to be very big with the two guitars! Thank you Blaze. Ultima Ratio Long Distance Runner Inscription: 15 Mar 2004 18:45 Messages: 4558 Localisation: 92	Blaze nous avait promis un album plus "léger" et direct après un triple concept album SF. Il tient promesse avec ces 10 titres pour 41 minutes. On se la joue directe sans révolutionner la formule. Mais ça fonctionne. Le duo qu'il forme avec Chris Appleton trouve toujours un p'tit truc qui accroche l'oreille. L'ami Blaze nous parle toujours de l'importance de se battre (War within me, Warrior, pull yourself up), mais aussi de personnages historiques avec cette vraie fausse trilogie sur Alan Turing, Nikola Tesla et Stephen Hawking. Voilà, il reste dans son style et n'a clairement pas envie d'expérimenter plus que ça. La prod est toujours maison mais la magie des home studios fait que ça sonne plutôt bien. On regrettera éventuellement la voix légèrement en retrait au détriment des guitares (c'est Appleton qui se charge du mix). Et je suspecte aussi l'utilisation d'une boîte à rythme. Je suis d’accord, le guitariste arrive toujours à trouver un truc qui accroche: une mélodie prenante, un enchaînement bien troussé etc.. J’apprécie aussi le courage de Blaze. He is in good spirits in the circumstances but utterly disappointed to have to postpone our imminent shows due in March & April. Ticket refunds will be available at source but we truly hope you will keep your tickets & make it to the new dates which we will be announcing as soon as they are scheduled. Regarding shows already booked for June-November this year, we understandably have to wait a short while to see how quick Blaze’s recovery will be, so please stay tuned & meanwhile most importantly we're sure you will join us in wishing him a complete & speedy recovery. Inscription: 14 Mar 2004 20:49 Messages: 25292 Localisation: Cambrai	Citation: HEALTH UPDATE We visited Blaze in hospital yesterday & first of all we’re delighted to say we found him in excellent spirits, sitting up in bed. We of course had an update on his condition but also a really good chat & a laugh as normal. Blaze has certainly not lost his strength & sense of humour! Moving on from that he does require surgery & within the next few days (as soon as hospital capacity allows) he will be undergoing a triple (possibly quadruple) heart bypass. This is obviously not a small matter & we should expect that his recovery period will be many months. We will announce the impact on the tour diary once we’ve discussed with the relevant venues & promoters. Nevertheless, Blaze is looking ahead with optimism for a full recovery with good health & fitness, & the full benefit of the surgery & treatment. On behalf of Blaze & all of us in the team, we thank you so much for all the messages of love & support. It really has been incredible & Blaze is both energised & emotional in response. As most of you will understand Blaze is a completely independent artist & so the postponement of the current tour & future dates is a particularly big blow. For those of you that would like to help us get through this period we ask you to please buy merch from our webshop (probably items that you would have bought at one of the shows).
