Non mais moi Purple c'est Blackmore, et quand je vois écrit "Purple classique" je vois alors les années 70. C'était pas que Ritchie Blackmore mais c'était surtout Ritchie Blackmore.

j'avais bien compris ton raisonnement, mais Purple existe bien aussi sans lui depuis un paquet d'année, Purpendicular ou Abandon sont de très bons albums quand même

Après 2 écoutes, je suis quand même rassuré. Il y a de très bons titres comme Money Talks qui ouvre l'album, Rapture Of The Deep, la ballade Clearly Quite Absurd, Back To Back avec un pur solo de clavier, MTV bien catchy et Before Time Began dont le début me fait l'effet d'un mix entre Mark Lanegan et Faith No More (drôle de comparaison, certes...).

A explorer donc, peut être bien à acheter et selon l'humeur à aller voir en concert en janvier (mais le prix des places fait mal).

deux concerts de la tournée Battle rage on ressortent en cd, ça va tenir sur 4 cd dans un coffret visiblement, c'est vrai que Come hell or high water était leger, mais j'avais pas été convaincu, on verra avec les concerts complets

According to Deep-Purple.net, BMG will be releasing two full shows from guitarist Ritchie Blackmore's last tour with DEEP PURPLE — recorded in Stuttgart and Birmingham in October/November 1993 on "The Battle Rages On" trek — as a four-CD box set. Both shows will be completely unedited and will make up for any disappointment that fans felt when the original "Come Hell Or High Water" CD was released eleven years ago. The four-CD set, "Live In Europe 1993", is now scheduled to ship during the first week of March. The track listing is expected to be as follows:

L'intéret de rassembler 2 concerts à la setlist quasi-identique me dépasse un peu..
Sinon c'est assez intéressant quand même.

Il n'y a pas vraiment d'interet c'est simplement que c'est les deux concerts utilisés pour la version cd de Come Hell. Sinon, connaissant des boots et la version video bien mieux foutue, ça promet des concerts entre le bon et le trés bon selon les moments, et un son tout à fait apte à faire oublier cette sous merde d'album live qu'ils avaient sortis en cata à l'époque...
Reste à savoir combien ça va couter... Quatre cd d'une tournée dont il existe déjà un live, un bootleg officiel et une video, meme si c'est de la bonne réédition on a pas envie de s'y ruiner.

"I would guess, in addition to "Rapture Of The Deep", "Wrong Man" and "Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye", which we´re already doing... when the tour starts in January we will almost certainly do "Junkyard blues". Possibly "Clearly Quite Absurd", because that may fit in as a quieter track . I´m not sure if it´s gonna work on stage, we´ll have to see. I would think probably six or seven tracks. But then again we may play all of them and just rotate them on different nights."

About Ritchie Blackmore want to do one off show with Deep Purple:
"I´ve read that too, yes. He´s dreaming! Why on earth would we do something with that guy...that brought the band to the edge of ruination. It´s just ludicruos! We spent the last ten years rebuilding the reputation and the style and the quality of the music. There´s no way on earth that will happen!"

About Steve Morse sitting out and Michael Bradford fill in:
"His wife has been very ill and he´s nursing her back home. She´s had three major operations and fingers crossed she´s getting better now, but it is a slow recovery. She´s very weak. So we´re doing this promotion tour and suggested...well, our producer Michael Bradford, and he said he would love to come and fill in and he´s a wonderful musician and I fell off my chair laughing...he´s a big, huge black man from Detroit and he introduced himself to the tv producer yesterday, and he said "Hello, my name is Richie Moreblack!" (laughs)".

A new DEEP PURPLE live CD and DVD, recorded at the Montreux festival on July 9, 1996, is being released on May 1. The track listing for both the DVD and CD is as follows:

Le show est raccourci pour le festival, et le public assis... donc ça ne sera pas au niveau du live à l'olympia, mais ça dépassera facilement l'immonde Live Encounters pour ce qui est des videos de cette tournée.

Sinon, une belle réédition de Rapture arrive.

Under pressure from the band, Edel have rethought the limited tour edition of Rapture Of The Deep. This will now be a DOUBLE CD set. CD 1 has the album as before. CD 2 now has EIGHT tracks: 1) Clearly Quite Absurd (new version) 2) Things I Never Said (Japanese bonus track) 3) The Well Dressed Guitar (unreleased) 4) Rapture Of The Deep (live) 5) Wrong Man (live) 6) Highway Star (live) 7) Smoke On The Water (live) 8) Perfect Strangers (live). The live tracks were recorded in London Oct 10. 2005.

La version studio de Well Dressed Guitar (instru joué depuis six ans déjà !) est très attendue, rien que ça devrait suffire à acheter la réédition. Sinon, d'après mes impressions live, Wrong Man devrait être intéressant, c'est le seul qui m'a semblé tenir tête aux classiques sur scène. Par contre, c'est dommage que ce soit enregistré en 2005, on aura pas droit au nouvel arrangement de Highway Star, donc toujours la meme version qui s'use un peu.

Hum moi aussi. Mais je suis toujours pas sur de l'acheter. Cet album est bien meilleur que Bananas mais j'ai toujoours du mal avec le deep purple actuel, et puis le coup du morceau arabisant avec "rapture of the deep" j'ai trouvé ça assez minable. Bon on verra si le prix est raisonnable j'acheterais peut être cette réedition (mais quel pratique commercial de merde quand même!!!).

The bonus tracks may be different to those originally listed. The test pressing seen by the DPAS includes '69 / Perfect Strangers / Lazy / Highway Star / When A Blind Man Cries, rather than the two songs listed on the press release (Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming / Fools).

Précisons que Fools et 69 sont présents sur le dvd "Video Collection 1984-2000".

Pour ce qui est de l'édition limité de Rapture of the Deep :

The Rapture Tour Edition has been put back again (at least for UK release) until June 5th, the week after Monsters Of Rock. It is already available in Germany. Thanks to Essential for the info.

DEEP PURPLE: Remastered 'Stormbringer' To Arrive Next Spring - Oct. 24, 2006

Acording to a posting at Deep-Purple.net, DEEP PURPLE's multi-track tapes for the 1974 classic album "Stormbringer" have been located. The tapes are said to be in "excellent" condition and contain, among other things, three different vocals for "Soldier of Fortune", a powerful instrumental version of "Highball Shooter" and singer David Coverdale's original backwards bit for the start of the title track. Ex-PURPLE bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes has asked to be involved in the remastered "Stormbringer" and will hopefully be able to drop into the studios at the end of his current tour to work on one or two remix ideas. A spring 2007 release is expected.
