Ecoute du 1er titre. Intro acoustique, très bel arpège. Entrée de la rythmique, montée en puissance, qui débouche sur un thème très mélodique à la guitare saturée. La partie vocale est bien agressive, et ce coté rentre-dedans est renforcé par des riffs énergiques, à la sonorité grave. On a même le droit à quelques parties de claviers aux sons assez futuristes dosées comme il faut. Il y a une partie instrumentale, avec une solo de guitare genre hallucinant de brio, le tout très construit. Un titre efficace pour une ouverture d'album, qui laisse supposer que l'ami LABRIE n'a pas fait les choses à la va-vite !

Moi Labrie, je le trouve un peu trop coulant ces derniers temps.

Marf, tant mieux, c'est comme ça qu'il est le meilleur mon octopode fétiche...

Surprenant cet album, le père James utilise des sons assez modernes, c'est deroutant au 1er abord mais on s'y fait et ça a l'air de s'annoncer assez bien cet album

A approfondir bien sur

Oui, il y a plein de synthé futuroïde et de très bons effets sur la voix (qu'il a jolie d'ailleurs... (ça me fait penser au nez de Cléopatre ça )) . Je ne l'ai écouté qu'une fois pour l'instant et il m'a bien plu cet album, pêchu et diversifié. A suivre !

ça y est je l'ai acheté et j'ai tout simplement adoré! Des morceaux diversifiés avec pas mal d'arrangements, des sonorités technoides, modernes, un premier titre à couper le souffle (Metallica n'est d'ailleurs pas loin).
Bref excellent album vraiment!

Après son excellent Elements of Persuasion, James et ses sbires (Guilloy, Sfogli et Wherry) sont sur la préproduction d'un nouvel album.

Y en a qui choment pas...

L'enregistrement de ce nouvel album devrait commencer très bientôt. James est revenu de Russie où il a enregistré son projet "opéra".

DREAM THEATER vocalist James LaBrie has posted the following message on his official web site addressing reports that he recently spent time in Russia recording vocals for a opera-style project:

"Okay, let me set the record straight and stop and further doubts.

"Yes, I was in Russia last week. I arrived June 6th and recorded for 5 days. I just returned home last evening. We have recorded the same 21 songs the 3 tenors did in '90. The project is masterminded by Dirk Ulrich from Germany. He re-arranged and recorded the songs with a string section and very fine rock musicians, him included. They still have the classical elements in tact as well as rock so that the songs have an edge to them. They sound phenomenal. The three singers were...yours truly, Vladimir Grishko and Thomas Dewald. The both of them are stars and have incredible voices. We all got along fabulous and worked extremely well togther. There was definitely mutual respect for one another. We really did had a blast. We also did a photo shoot and many interviews for Russian TV and other various media outlets. The project is going by the name TSR (True Symphonic Rochestra).

"I am extremely proud of what we did. Both Luciano Pavorotti and Madame Cabelle (she sang and recorded Barcelona with Freddie Mercury) are really excited about this and completely believe in it. That is all I want to say at this point but believe me this will blow your mind when you hear it."

Sacré James ! J'ai un peu peur que cela soit indigeste, mais qui sait...
